Normaly my dad makes a huge speach at Thanks Giving and if not him then someone does. This year he didn't. He said thanks you for the food, and our family, and then said that there was only one thing missing, that he wished his mother, my Nana, where there. We cried, and laughed. And one boy asked "Who the hell is Nana?!" Then we really laughed.
If you asked every kid what their favorite holiday was, most would say christmas or their birthday. Because hey, you get preasants. But not me. Mine is ThanksGiving. It's the only time when all my family is there. When we can just talk and laugh and remember over a good meal. It was diffrent without Nana and addition of my aunt's new family but it was still one of the best nights of the year. I can't think of any other holliday I injoy more.
My very favoite thing about any holiday is when my cousin sings. The youngest of the four boys is very tallented. We spent half an hour trying to convence him to try out of American Idol next year, but still he refused. If I had gotten a video of it I would send it to you all but unfortunatly I didn't. We where all lauging at his songs and the funny faces he made when he sang them untill he started a new one he was working on. "DreamSickles". It was about my Nana, we miss her. But nolonger do we cry because she is gone, but smile because she was. I've got a friend out there that is going through a loss, you know who you are. I just want to say sorry, you have my deepest simpathy. Just remember to smile, they wouldn't want you to cry.
I remember one time when I was little, at my Nana's house. She had a mail slit on the door that my sister and I would use more as a toy than anything else. We would write her letters and slid them through the slot, she'd write back and send them through again. Then we'd laugh and run in and out of the door, recieving our own letters and sending them back to ourselves. After a while we'd get bored and go play tick-tack-toe with the old set she had. The x's and o's where made of apples: Green and red, I always played with the green ones, kendall got the red. I always lost too. I've never been good at tick-tak-toe. Then Nan would bring out oranges and a juicer. We loved making orange juice, even if we didn't like drinking it. I still remember that house perfectly, even if I was only seven or eight when she moved. Funny, how half these memories didn't mean anything untill after she was gone. And now I write them all down, I never want to forget. I am thankfull for each and every one.
So before I go I'll say my thanks. Thank you, all of you. My friends, for being there for me when I was down, and for helping me stand when I've fallen. For giving me back my smile when no one else could and for just making me laugh. Thank you to those who have supported me both in daylie life and on DA as an artist. I could never do anything I do without the incouragement of both my friends and the people who happen to stumble upon my page. Thank you to my family, (most of which actualy read this) for the love you've given me through out the years and for supporting me in all my goals. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
Hope you all have (or had) a wounderful Thanks Giving.
